#housing #remotework #tax Just landed a new remote job and would like to find an area that keeps more of my money in my pocket instead of going to taxes. The area should also be great for a family with kids. My top choices are Texas, Tennessee, and Florida to maximize salary since they do not collect income tax and are down south where the weather is nicer for a larger part of the year. My thoughts on 3 states I am thinking about: Texas: No income tax, high property tax, housing prices are now relatively pricey, schools ratings seem lower. Florida: No income tax, low property tax, housing prices are high, houses in general are lackluster for price, schools ratings are not good in most areas, but the activities in the state seem awesome (beaches, Everglades, Disney, universal, etc). Tennessee: No income tax, low property tax, house prices are low, houses in general are very nice, school rating tend to be really good no matter where you look. Any input would be appreciated! Blind Tax: YOE: 5 years Old employment TC: 160k New Employment TC 235k
Mind sharing YOE?
Just added to blind tax part of the post
> I plan to start a family I, not we? How exactly do you expect to meet someone if the local scene is not of consideration?
Already married.
Do they know you plan to start a family?
Nashville TN
Vancouver Washington. No income tax, drive over the border to Oregon, no sales tax.
Each side woker than the other. Only thing not woke is the Sun, he stay behind Mr. Cloud.
Only if you pay in cash / have no trail of your purchases in Oregon, otherwise you still pay Washington tax on your purchases come tax time
Cary, NC
Cary housing and tax is not cheap.
Don't invest in property which is at/below sea level
South Dakota? Cheapest and no tax
Costa rica
Tennessee is a wonderful state but the secret is out, home prices are increasing a lot in Knoxville and Nashville. Memphis sucks so avoid that
