Hello guys, What do people think about giving interviews at Seattle or Vancouver in a Amazon's hiring event? In terms of difficulty? I heard Seattle interviews are more harder?
Although overall talent level in Vancouver may be lower, interviewees/interviewers could be from elsewhere, and they’re likely hiring for far fewer positions. Basically bar could be lower (or not), but competition is likely higher in Vancouver.
position is located in Vancouver but the recruiter asked me to give interview at a hiring event in Seattle.
If it’s for a specific position you may have better luck in Vancouver where you might be interviewed by people more familiar with the specific role they want to fill.
I dont think overall talent in Vancouver is lower? What makes you think so?
what do you think about 5 hour onsite or 4 hour hiring event?
I would take 4 hour hiring event if I were you
Why would you interview in Canada just to get a lower bar?
Its also because I live in Canada and I don't have to travel.
Ah makes sense
L5 hiring bar in AWS Vancouver is way higher than in Seattle. This is mainly down to supply and demand. In Seattle the interviewers need to be less picky as supply is low. In Vancouver supply is high, therefore a higher bar.
Is L5 salary on average higher in Vancouver than Seattle ?
Are you sure supply is low in Seattle? I thought its other way around and Vancouver has less supply.
Same shit, as in the difficulty of your interview is decided by your interviewers, which is decided by your luck
