eBay Layoff 2024
I was laid off from eBay today. Worked as a sfotware engineer (backend largely). I have 90 odd days to land another offer now in this job market. What are my chances? YoE: ~ 4 TC: 210K
Why 90 days?
I was impacted too and I am on h1. Our last date is March 15th. The 60 days start after that. And even after that our h1 is still valid till the i797 date. And trust me if you donβt look at faang there are PLENTY companies hiring. I literally had calls with 3 different recruiters just today ! P. S. This is my 4th layoff/firing. I got out of it every time with more salary and better job. You will too. Donβt lose hope.
When you say βeve after that our H1 is still valid till the I-797 dateβ, are you saying if the I-797 expiration date is in 2026, one has until then to find another job without having to leave the country?

As per WARN notice, they are supposed to give one 2 months notice before termination. So, ideally it should be 4 months. Did eBay not keep you on payroll for 2 months?
Nope. Their notice period and warn period go together.
