Great work life balance, I work a max of 20 hours a week. Great moonlighting policy.
We don’t hire the best talent. We hire talent that fills our diversity quotas and so you get a lot of people that feel they are being treated unfairly while making 300k+. Takes forever to ship anything. Very hard to get promoted past senior.
Does uploading side projects to GitHub gives any benefit in career/job-search? Any success stories? Tc 140K

How does one get to Sr. Director with less than 10 yoe? I saw someone's profile on LinkedIn with crazy growth GitHub. I understand some can get early experience as a founder and catapult up the career ladder. But this leader had no such experience. What does it take?

Not sure why people are big fans of it. Everyone’s camera is off , there is no actual networking or building relationships at work. Contemplating an offer. On one hand I’m excited because I love GitHub and their contribution to open source. There are quite a few developers I look up to at GitHub. On the other hand I’m wary that a lot of people are leaving and leadership seems to have issues. Is it a good place to learn/ grow a ...Read more
Any sub like learnprogramming, programming, webdev, etc… shuns leetcode like it doesn’t play a significant role in getting a job. Is Software Engineering a safe career if compared with MBA/CA folks as their career has no end point. No doubt salaries of sde's are on higher side but will this continue with increasing automation like github copilot and stuff? Just a thought 🤔💭
