WLB still okay for many teams, though very very bad for a few, and nothing at all like what it used to be. Perks are still very good by Silicon Valley / tech giant standards. Compensation CAN be good, but salaries are way down and TC depends a lot on when you got hired, how MS stock is/was doing. For promotions it matters a lot whether you know how to suck up to the right people and do the right kind of dances. If you're good at (and willing to do) politics, especially the "kiss up, kick down" kind, then LinkedIn is still a very good choice. The bar for technical and operational quality is nonexistent now, so you really can focus entirely on your career without worrying about whether the product you're working on is any good.
Complete collapse of what used to be really great culture since Jeff W left. Even the competent middle managers are squeezed between incompetent execs and unhappy ICs. Project funding is totally incoherent and high level technical decisions seem to have become 100% political. Craftsmanship and leadership no longer really taken into account for promos, except maybe at the Jr->Sr jump. For promotion you need to laser focus on "execution" of whatever dumb project your VP or Sr Dir happens to be in love with. But be careful because that project may fold unexpectedly, or get sent to some other org, if the political winds shift above your level. Technical leadership at LI has always been pretty uneven, but now it's uniformly awful. As mentioned above, you can do well financially if you focus on the politics. But if it's important to you to do work that's challenging or interesting or educational, or even just high quality, LinkedIn is not the right place for you.
Hello everyone, I wanted to know what's the best way to network in LinkedIn I'm mainly interested in research/data/analytics positions in big tech companies. So far only only one head of a research group answered me, he asked me to apply when positions are available in their website and to send h...Read more
Anyone knows why Linkedin Research Network failed? I’ve got to know that working as an expert for companies like GLG pays you like $2000 per hour of phone call. I think this might be a good business for Linkedin and found they tried it, but failed. Anyone knows why?
Change my mind. Networking through LinkedIn, where do I even begin! To summarize, it’s a scam, a BIG scam. They say write a personal note to the ones you want to connect with. I do that, to every recruiter for a job I am interested in. Just for a simple connect. Not one gets back with a “hey”. Tc...Read more

My LinkedIn DMs are full of fake profile invites and SAHMs selling skin care. Do you have a fav professional network with less of this?
My own company edition. This dude really thought he did something calling out the 9-5 badge requirement like it’s a good thing 😂😂😂. No, people get here before 9 because management frowns upon those that cherish any semblance of wlb. Also, we HAVE to badge in before 9 and after 5. If we’re one min...Read more
Has anyone else noticed their linkedin network recommendations go to shit lately? It used to be amazing how good it was. Recognizing old acquaintances, those in my current workgroup, those I studied with, those I almost forgot I was friends with. Now I scroll through pages and don't know a single p...Read more
Is it true by adding recruiters in your LinkedIn network would receive more job offer inbox? Anyone know tricks on LinkedIn?
I have a LinkedIn account with more than 500 connections, some of them were my coworkers or classmates, the rest are either people that I met once or never. I used to check who has viewed my profile and check their profile, but don't check any more. Also used to review the feed and read some of th...Read more
I’ve not really been one to cold message recruiters about jobs, or message people who work at a company I want to work at to grease the wheels per se. My roommate said thats how he hot his current job though - messaging people far and wide across linkedin until one recruiter essentially helped him ...Read more
Meta gets the hate and insta/fb has it's pros & cons but Linkedin has become absoulte cringefest. Every other post is a candidate thanking recruiter, parents, mailman, watchman for clearing tech interviews. I’ve seen a lot of people wearing this badge on their LinkedIn profile pic. What’s the point? Does adding thousands of random people who don’t know you actually contribute in any way to your career?
In your opinion, what are the top three professional networking platforms being used by job seekers in tech besides LinkedIn?? #hiring #jobopening #recruiting
Curious how people handle incoming LinkedIn in connection requests / messages. What do you do when you get connection requests from someone you dont know ? If someone high up / done “big” things sends you a connection request without a message, but you don’t know them, do you accept it ? Do you resp...Read more
As far as feed is concerned, it is just unbearable to even look at it. You see random posts and most of them are self praising and people excited/thrilled about almost everything under the sun. Such braggers and attention seekers. And then those motivation posts by self proclaimed linked in influenc...Read more
Can someone give more details about the Network Operations Center Engineering role at LinkedIn? Can someone also give some details about the hiring process? Thank you!!
Just want to get a sense of what is the average LinkedIn network size for Blind users.
Dose any one know about the position is it a position where you can code or work on computer networking?
Sure it has its fair share of cringe but it’s tolerable and it gets the job done. We don’t have all the PR issues like Facebook, instagram, TikTok, twitter, etc. You go on the platform and you face zero harassment. You want a job? Jump on LinkedIn. Want to network with REAL people? Get on LinkedIn....Read more
