Good to have on your resume for next future jobs
No work life balance, 60+ hours is the expectation for everyone
Each manager has to meet quota for marking LEs. I have been put on dev list as well. This places sucks!! Just to give more context. Amazon has 2 rating systems. One is used during your perf similar to other companies. Other is hidden from you and only managers know about it. It only has 3 categorie...Read more
It seems clear that Google and a number of other tech companies are adopting Amazon's stack ranking model for performance reviews. For those who got MI (or whatever the second worst rating is there) twice in a row at Amazon, is it possible to actually recover from this? Or is this an inevitable path...Read more
Amazon obviously has a lot of different organizations (marketplace, digital, aws, etc.) Anyone want to give a go at stack ranking the orgs from best to worst? #amazon #tech

Let’s hope that this is the end of the inhumane stack ranking PIP factory that is Amazon. https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-employee-ranking-system-drone-engineer-lawmakers-bill-washington-2022-1 From the article: A former Amazon drone engineer who quit the company after being told he was amo...Read more
Hi, Recently I read in some article that Amazon has abandoned the stack-ranking system used when it comes to performance review. Is this true? Has it been 100% abandoned? What is the "new" system now? Is it better?
I changed teams recently (February) and my previous manager is pissed. Can he rank me as LE or will my new manager do the ranking ?
Does %subject% override leadership principles/superpowers in performance reviews? If so, bad managers would abuse stack ranking (tag 'em `LE`) despite good performance. Have you come across this? This encourages team politics/brown nosing, not performance.

Currently considering offers. Money for new offers is in the same ballpark, I will post offers once finalized. Curious about work culture. Is it amazon << stripe < Doordash < meta? Poll for worst work culture.
Pardon me, I'm just combining two questions into one. Does Apple stack rank? I heard they did (maybe in the past) but also that they currently don't? Amazon's stack ranking culture is quite notorious imo. I heard the culture creates a backwards system where managers hire people they think will unde...Read more

Lots of company like FB Google Netflix Snap have stack ranking and PIP quota but why only Amazon hire to fire? Just curious is it because Amazon is too big or hire to fire also happens in other companies just not on media yet.
